Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I enjoyed traveling outside of Tokyo for a weekend because I was able to catch a glimpse of life outside of the city.

What were your goals in attending the KCP program?

To improve my knowledge and to learn how to correctly use the Japanese language.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I found pair work and small groups sessions to be most helpful as I was forced to actually speak in Japanese with others and to learn how to listen to and understand what they were saying. Homework was also very helpful as I was able to discover my weak spots.

Where did you reside over the course of this program?

Dormitory

Where did you live?

Azeria Kasai

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

My room was a bit bigger than I though it would be, and the food arrangements were very convenient. Shiraishi-san is very nice and helpful and was very open to chatting with those of us living here. I had no problems while living here.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

If you live far away from the school, consider doing your homework in the student lounge after class prior to returning home. This way you won't have to worry about doing your homework after the long commute home. In addition, this ensures that you will have your homework done before class the next day.

Testimonials

I loved meeting new people in my classes and being able to practice Japanese almost every day. I loved living in Japan as if I were Japanese and absorbing the culture.
