The Edo wonderland event was very interesting.

Norman from Fall 2018

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The Edo wonderland event because it was very interesting.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most productive and intresting aspect is when the teachers explain grammar clearly and also kanji. I think the least productive and intresting aspect is sometimes the homework is given at awkward times. Sometimes we are given lots of homework before an exam which does not give me enough time to study for it. Other times we are given little such as before the weekend.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The minna no nihongo book and the benkyou note was very helpful to study.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

It maybe best to come to Japan early and check into a hotel in Narita to rest or go directly to your living arrangement otherwise expect to stay awake for up to 40 hours straight. Also please research how to do daily activities in Japan such as laundry etc. Furthermore depending on where you live you may want to look at google maps and see whats in the area beforehand so you can get an idea of where you want to go or shop.

Testimonials

This program has been awesome, and I learned a lot about Japanese language and culture within such a short period of time. The teachers are very patient and they try their best to encourage everyone’s participation by making the class fun. I would definitely recommend this school to other people who wants to go to Japan to study Japanese.
