KCP Spring 2017 Batch Visit Kamakura
Kamakura (鎌倉) is a historic coastal town less than an hour away from the bustling Tokyo metropolis. The town used to be the political center of Japan in 1192. The 14th century however saw its decline and eventually lost its position among other cities.
Kamakura today is a popular destination for many visitors to Japan. It is oftentimes referred to as the Kyoto of Eastern Japan. There are numerous shrines, temples and other monuments that are significant in Japan’s history. The city of Kamakura also has breathtaking beaches that are worth visiting.
