Great school. Would’ve definitely liked to stay longer.

Shane from Winter 2025

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I liked the moments in class, during homework check or like in the breaks, that I was able to talk to my classmates. One of my most favorite things.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I think most of the program was productive. I have no specifics. But I think there was a point I was studying more for tests, rather than studying to speak.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I liked the guests we had in class. Was a very fun time and experience. I didn’t have many questions I wanted to ask but it was nice to talk to people. Group work was always my favorite.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

Mr. Tanaka was very informative and cool. We went to different places that maybe I wouldn’t have gone to by myself. Which is cool in itself.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

I feel like more previous Japanese background in my case would’ve helped me. So it should help other students coming here. Great school. Would’ve definitely liked to stay longer.

Testimonials

I selected this program because I saw a favorable review for it in my Japanese club’s newsletter, and I had been looking for a study abroad in Tokyo. I also liked how inexpensive the program was and how the offered dormitories, which few other programs did.
