Pair work helped a lot, especially with international students. It made me use only Japanese to communicate with them.

Josue from Summer Short-term 2025

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

Yamanashi Trip. It was nice to explore the countryside of Japan.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most was having to use our Japanese in conversations with other international students. As for the least interesting and productive, there was nothing. Everything was productive and interesting for me.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Pair work helped a lot, especially with international students. It made me use only Japanese to communicate with them.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Make friends with the international students and hang out with them. It's really helps you use your Japanese.

Testimonials

The textbooks and drill practice helped me study, the tests helped me figure out what I needed to study more. I often did small group study sessions outside of class as well, and those helped all involved, I believe.
