Alan from Spring 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The earthquake simulation gave me a better appreciation of the challenges that the Japanese need to face.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

It was talking to the teachers and getting to know what I do not know. The least interesting thing that helped me greatly was using Anki to remember the Kanji every day.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Tests were the most helpful as they motivated me to study more and faster.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

The earthquake simulation and free time to talk with other new students, creating a group to hangout with.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Use Anki, talk with your friends about how to study especially those who have been in level 4, and prepare to work hard to get good grades.

Testimonials

I’m a bargain shopper so I looked at a lot of different study abroad options in Japan before selecting KCP. I was slightly worried because I literally could not find any bad comments about KCP anywhere online, and that made me suspicious. … But the truth is, KCP is simply the best! I have no complaints at all. For anyone seriously interested in learning Japanese, KCP is fast-paced but really fun. I totally recommend it!
